Finland have appeared in every contest held so far, with an impressive qualification record to the final. The country initially had problems converting strong semi final results in to positions in the final, however, with 5th places in the Dublin and Moscow semi finals only resulting in 15th and 11th place in the respective finals. Of surprise was the failure of Lordi to make it out of their semi final in Prague, the former winners only managing a lowly 19th.
Their first top 10 position would come in Manchester, as Chisu was able to not only pick up 3rd in her regional quarter final but win her semi final, before slipping to 6th in the final itself. The Rasmus would notch up a second consecutive top 10 result in Tórshavn, with the country also making the final in the next two contests, maintaining its impressive form.
